Birchip Festive Season Begins with . . . Big Bucks Bonanza

It is time to shop, stamp, and win big this holiday season! The Birchip Forum, in collaboration with Birchip Traders and Birchip Neighbourhood House, is thrilled to be running the 2024 ‘Birchip Big Bucks Bonanza’ shopping promotion again this Christmas season.

This festive initiative encourages community members to support local businesses by rewarding shoppers with a chance to win exciting prizes simply by shopping in Birchip. The promotion will run for one month, with prizes drawn at the Birchip Community Christmas Party on Sunday, December 15.

This will give the lucky winners a boost in the lead up to Christmas with a few extra “Big Bucks” to spend in the community prior to Christmas when expenses are high. By promoting local shopping, the Bonanza not only supports Birchip’s economy but it also brings the holiday spirit to life in the community.

How It Works
This year it’s a little different, but it’s still easy to participate in the ‘Birchip Big Bucks Bonanza’ and there are still great rewards to be won! Shoppers can collect a loyalty card from the Birchip Newsagency (or traders can collect from the newsagency and supply to their shoppers), and then when they make a purchase of any denomination at all participating Birchip businesses, they get their loyalty card signed by the business.

Once a shopper has all nine baubles on their loyalty card signed, they can submit their completed card in the ‘Birchip Big Bucks Box’ at the Birchip Newsagency and receive a new card to start the process over again.

Shoppers are welcome to complete as many cards as they like, and no minimum purchase amount is required. All submitted cards will be entered into the prize draw, which will include a range of prizes and large amounts of “Big Bucks’ which can be used as cash in participating local businesses.

Local Business Support
The Birchip Community Forum and Birchip Traders are calling on local businesses to support this exciting promotion by making a financial or goods contribution. Local businesses interested in supporting the 'Birchip Big Bucks Bonanza' can reach out to organisers Carol Reid or Emily Noonan.

Any businesses who have been a long-time supporter of the ‘Birchip Big Bucks Bonanza’ and know how it works, can make a financial contribution to the Birchip Neighbourhood House Community Events bank account they have used in the past or drop off a voucher or donation of goods to the Birchip Neighbourhood House.

Participating businesses will receive recognition on the Birchip Community Forum Facebook page, the Birchip Facebook page, the 2025 Birchip Community Calendar, and all related digital and print advertising.

This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to gain visibility while giving back to the community, and inversely it is a good opportunity for community members to support local businesses who give so generously all year round.

Let’s make this holiday season one to remember by shopping locally, supporting our community, and spreading festive cheer in Birchip!
